1974-Ted-Warnock-Rhode-Island

John began spearfishing in Rhode Island in 1963, and continued when he left for military service in 1967. John spent eight years in the Air Force, serving four overseas tours. He dove on every assignment. When he returned to Rhode Island in 1975, he immediately began to impact local meets. He was the North Atlantic Champion in 1996 and 1998. He was a member of two National Championship teams in 1990 and 2003. He has won the Rhode Island Bluewater meet an unprecedented four times. His victory with a 61.2 striped bass was a world record fish in 2007, and is still the largest fish ever landed in the RI Bluewater meet. Anne Doherty and John Warnock began diving together in 2009.
